I was at that 78 Gator Bowl game: very young though. Was also in College Park when we beat Maryland 28-24 to win ACC:
Totally thought we were going to lose before that interception.
Do not like either team. Guess ND will have to be pick if I must. Was really hoping for a Texas PSU MATCHUP

We were at the game and had no idea what happened until then next morning because of where our seats were. To dislike a team today because a sad old man lost his cool 45 or so years ago is just a sad way to live and history has to be remembered but not the defining part of your like.

I was at the game while at Clemson in the end zone with other students. I told the guys I was with when the fight broke out that Woody threw the first punch. Heard on radio the next morning Woody fired for hitting a Clemson player.

I was watching it on TV. Danny Ford said later that he didn't know what had happened. He started walking across the field to find out when a referee stopped him. The ref asked him, "Do you want to win this game, coach?" Danny said, "Yes sir." The ref said,"Then go back to the sidelines and keep quiet." The quotes are paraphrased.
