anyjuan else think we should rest DW the first two games

next year... and only play him at UofL if needed? He would be fresh and healthy for the Irish, and it would give our #2 plenty of work in case we needed to rest DW later in the year.
thoughts?

We can just rest him til Nov 28 and turn him lose on the Coots. A win over them is all that matters anyway, right?

I say play him in the first half of each, let him knock some rust off and get into a rhythm with the first team, then play the back up in the second half or more if we already have a large enough lead. I don't think sitting him for the first two games will help him be ready to play.
As for only playing him against UL "if needed", he will be needed, I don't see them as a push over game at all. They will play us tough but we will win that game, hopefully it wont be a close one.

Thats exactly right. With our weapons, it shouldnt matter who we play, just manage the game and find ways to get the ball into the hands of the playmakers and let em go!!!!! If he has to run, teach him to slide. Let his cannon do his talking!!!!! No way you hold him out. That just isnt a smart thing to do.

I won't be satisfied with any fewer than 7 called run in the first quarter of his first start back.

Presumably he is healthy, Why would you want to do that?

QBs get better by playing and not just setting on the side line. So the concept of being fresh would not apply to this position. They need to throw the ball and have reps doing so in life game situations. So if he is healthy %100, he is in and no question about it unless one of the new QB recruit shows to be super, super, super human.
