I want everyone to keep in mind that this is Matt Luke’s second season. None of the offensive linemen that are starting were recruited by him. I expect things to get better moving forward. I hope this helps.

I agree. He's working wonders on the recruiting trail and (unpopular opinion) the o-line played decent against LSU. The lame offensive gameplan had us doomed... LSU was teeing off b/c they knew we'd abandoned the run. I'm not losing sleep over the o-line

I think our offensive scheme, or lack thereof, put the Oline in a bad situation. If there is one position coach on staff that I have confidence in, it’s Matt Luke.

CJ has done nothing to help his evaluation as a rb coach. Our running back situation is just not in a good spot at all. No star players, no bellcow, no depth.

For that complete lack of a run game in the 2nd half.
I don’t care what kind of hog - mollies you got up there if they can stack the box and rush downhill on you 24/7 with no consequences.

Garrett Riley abandoned the run and in doing so, it allowed the LSU defense to pin their ears back and rush the passer the entire 2nd half. Run plays weren't working because the formation showed as a run play which allowed the defense to stack the box and stuff the run every time. Also, the starters on the line were not recruited by Matt Luke. The ones who have been recruited by him are in development right now and will look much different whenever they get the starting nod. By then, Gideon Davidson will be the starting back and Clemson will have Vizzina or some other QB under center that can hopefully hit their wide outs. Clemson does have a good WR corps and a decent amount of depth at skill positions by the time Matt Luke's offensive line is playing meaningful time on the field.

Well said. I will add that our coaching staff either does not how to coach the running game or simply doe not think the running game is an integral part of winning football. The coaches are really good "talkers" about almost everything but when it comes to results, they are woefully lacking. One thing about Danny Ford, there was little talking and when a big game came around-you knew we were ready to roll. We need to restore toughness to the program one way or another.

Hard to blame the linemen for run blocking when you never try to run. Pass blocking left a little to be desired. But the gameplan and lack of adjustments did them no favors.

Alot of ways to look at what happened. If your offensive line is good and your offensive line coach is good, at some point you need to take control of the game and pound the football.
I can't say we are horrible but, we looked soft. Coaches should have prepared for this contingency. That's what they are payed to do.
Let's see where we stand in week 11. That is the tale of the tape.

Do you think any OL should be expected to withstand a 5-7 man blitz most of the night?
We didn’t prepare for a 5-7 man blitzkrieg because that wasn’t LSU’s M.O.
Now adjustments were obviously open for discussion, but “soft”? Nah. In actuality we didn’t even give them a chance to prove their mettle.
