For all you anglers out there, I would love to hear your opinion.
Major League Fishing changed their format this year. Last year it was "every fish counts." This year is is "five best."
Which do you prefer and why?
Me? I FAR prefer every fish counts. I love watching live streaming and seeing guys catch 30+ bass a day and having 70 libs of largemouth on southern lakes and 120+ lbs of smallmouth on the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes.
(Since basketball season is over, I figured I'd bring up something else to argue about.)😉🤦♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤔

For some reason I thought it has always been the best 3 to 5 fish. (Bass, SM, etc)
I have spent countless hours fishing on tour in the regular NES "The Black Bass" fishing in San Lake. I've caught all kinds if fish but pulled in a 23.2lb bass! An hour fight but lander em. At weigh in they would only let competitors use there few heaviest bass.
The fishermen keep live wells and throw the fish back so I believe showing the game fish population is a good thing. Imho id say stick with the old rules.
Nice post friend

... is a different organization than BASS.
On the MLF tour (Bass Pro Tour - equivalent to Bassmaster Elite Series) they have an official in each boat. The fish is immediately weighed and then tossed back into the lake. No fish ever goes into livewell. That's why they can have the rules that every fish counts, not just the top 5.

In a fishing tournament, who would lose between Brad Brownell and DJ Uiagalelei?

DJ would stuff brad in the rod box, lock it, run to the south end of Lake Hartwell, and throw Brad in the lake while they were pulling water through the Clark Hill ###.

That was just the bass pro tour mlf circuit. The mlfs other circuits such as Toyota and tackle warehouse invitational never did anything but 5 best. They also don’t release their fish immediately after weighing. Idk why. That being said I did enjoy they catch as many as you can rule, it was different from other tournaments and set the mlf apart. I also like the bass pro tour mlf circuit because they release fish immediately. Leaving them in a live well all day leads to dead fish, even if they are released.

I watch a lot of the MLF tournaments and I hate that they are changing the format -- counting the ""best five weight"" will be just like all the other tournaments -- weighing them all, with cumulative weight can make it interesting, when someone gets into a school of fish*** -- I watched the MLF Shootout at Lake Fork (Texas ) yesterday and the final 10 anglers had to catch a 2 lb. fish to count, where as they have to weigh only 1 lb. in the elimination rounds -- who would have thought that fishing would be a ""spectator sport"" with ""LIVE UPDATES"" from all the boats -- miss my days of fishing the local tournaments with all my buddies**** but standing on the front of a bass boat and slinging a spinnerbait or crankbait all day is more than an old man like me can do -- I'm more of a sit down, throw a ""Shakeyhead or Carolina Rig type guy now ****__________________ Go Tigers !!!!!!!
