Dabo is gonna stick with his “principals” regardless of criticism whether it be in recruiting or not aggressively pursuing best players in the portal
Or changing out staff. Last two yrs have shown a decline in recruiting and nothing from the portal - distinctly divergent from the likes of AL, UGA, OSU, FSU, and Miami. It is clear that those schools’ coaches have their own “principles” that are clearly focused on getting the very best players who can win against the top tier teams. For example, Saban has his “principle” that says “if I recruit a kid who can’t get on the field or play” then I will replace him with a
Portal transfer who can play”.

Let's look at the CFP teams and transfers in for the 2022 season:

UGA - zero from the Portal for the 2022

O31-0 State - Ranked 73rd with one 4 star and one 3 star.

Michigan - Ranked 57th with one 4 star and three 3 stars

TCU - Ranked 13th with two 4 stars and twelve 3 stars.

Do you really think those couple of 4 star and few 3 star players made that much difference? TCU had a bad recruiting year for 2022 (ranked 45th with only 14 signees and 10 of those were 3 stars) and they had 16 players transfer out. Look at the list and see the "impact" players (not but a couple). TCU had to transfer players in to have numbers. They are lucky to have stayed healthy. There is not a lot of depth.
