Eh, Alabama does this to everyone not named Clemson. There is some years one could argue that a G5 WAS better than say Notre Dame, Washington, Mich. St. just to name a few that got annihilated in the playoff.

Which makes me wonder, does Saint Nicky have to try hard to recruit the best players? He shows up at their doorstep, they say yes, game over. Or at least, it appears this way. While everyone else has to bust their arses just to get a few 4*s.

Hate to admit it but he’s the best coach in cfb history. Changing coordinators every year and still winning is very impressive. Yes they have the best players always (see Duke and NC basketball) but at some point he did it with average dudes. The genius hire is LSU getting him from up north.

Seems like a few years ago I heard the same thing about Clemson, that they didn't belong. And we know what happened.
I also remember teams like Boise State and App State knocking off football bluebloods like Oklahoma and Michigan.
So I guess my point is...if they don't "belong" then why even play the game? Just hand the trophy to Alabama or whoever the talking heads think are the better team. In fact, why not just make a super conference of the big-name teams and put everyone else in FCS?

#1 Don't say Ucf's, Boise st's, use one is ok. Using two or more is idiotic just as the" experts" use it
#2 Seen worse semifinals with P5
#3 Always put most deserving over "best", otherwise why play the game
