Only true patriots attack the capital, attack and kill the police and break into our US capital because some clown in a red hat told them to. Clowns is what I call them.

Me too.
Not to be political, but I liked Trumps proposal in 2005 when the city was taking bids for the replacement tower(s).
He wanted to rebuild them the way they were but stronger.

I was running a section of security personnel at Fleet Activities, Sasebo Japan. It’s a small Naval Station on Kyushu, the southern most of the three major Japanese islands. Sasebo is the home port of all those amphibious assault ships that ferry those Marines in Okinawa around. Small town, maybe 3 times as big as Clemson. So much nicer than living in the greater Tokyo area.
We worked 12 hour shifts on 2 and 3 day sets, flip-flopping from days to nights and back after each set. ….Yeah, try to figure out a sleep pattern on that schedule.
So there I was trying to stay up very late after finishing a set on days. I needed to be able to sleep as late into the next afternoon as possible. It’s like 11:30pm local for me ( remember I’m 13 hours ahead of you ).
The wife had just gone to bed and our elementary school girls were in bed long before. I sat down at the computer to surf the web and I opened a link to live stream country music from a Nashville station. What I heard was not country music. It sounded as bizarre as Orson Wells “War Of The Worlds” or something. I was quite confused by what I was hearing.
So I go turn on the television and there it is. I tuned in just in time to see the first tower collapsing in real time. I slid the fusama doors to the bedroom open and implored the wife who was not quite asleep yet to get up and see what was happening. Irritated that I was waking her up, she just beeotched at me and insisted whatever it was, she see it in the morning.
….But I knew what was about to happen so I started putting on my uniform. …..It was coming…..
And a few minutes later the phone rang. She heard my side of the conversation, “Yeah, I see it. I’m on my way in.”
….Then she got her #### up off that futon. “What happened ?”, she asked. I just pointed at the TV. I told her, “Don’t bother waking the girls in the morning, I don’t think they’ll be going to school tomorrow. ……I’ll call you later.”
Everyone at Sasebo was instantly recalled, every ship there took in all lines and got underway and the base was on a total lockdown for 3 weeks. I had to be around the security building pretty much round the clock so I slept in a single, unoccupied jail cell whenever I could.
I had a relatively new arrival female first class petty officer who worked for me. She had two boys about the same age as our girls and her husband was attached to USS Essex ( obviously underway now ). The same lockdown rules applied to her, the navy isn’t cutting her any kind of break.
But this is where navy families look out for each other. Our families didn’t even know each other but my wife voluntarily became the mother of her two boys for the next three weeks. I’m not sure they were necessarily thrilled with the kind of toys our girls had but we did have Sky Perfect Satellite which came with Cartoon Network, WWF and all the pay per views every Tuesday and Friday night, so there was that.

... they came back from commercial break and instead of being zany ######### were very somber and said something like "this is something you will not forget", and then remarked on what they were looking at on the TV. We set up a TV (with rabbit ears) in the conference room and watched the towers fall. Still impossible to believe those towers would collapse like that. Horrible day...
