There. I said it. The truth. Finally.
Are we all on the same page about this, and that it's popularity is all hype?

I went there once or twice as a student. Each time I left confused about why people rave about the place. The food is mediocre at best.

And idk I guess its just the atmosphere... all the clemson memorabilia and history surrounding you while you go face deep into a greasy double cheeseburger.
Also I've gotten to know the staff and they have some of the best sweet tea I've tasted.

Now, Teddy? That's a different story.

milkshake and they pretty much cuss you out.. also I loved seeing the older black lady in the back cooking the burgers while a long-ashed cigerette dangles from her lip.....classic.
Thats why I always went...they give two ripps about what you thought...but Mac was also really nice and humble and the cast of other characters were just funny.

Mac's is great. I go about 3 times a week. Whoever attributed the qute to Ma c about making a milkshake should apologize. No way in the world Mac would have said that.

I love the place - not a 4-star meal, but that's not the point. I still put French dressing on my fries to this day, which I owe to Mac's.
I was in there one day when a lady asked to have her burger cut in half. The guy behind the counter just laughed at her. Upon repeating her request the man mumbled some curses and handed it back to her. Classic.
And, if MYR is Myrtle Beach, I wouldn't be bragging about their locat cuisine.

to Wrigley Field to watch great baseball. It's the atmosphere. It's the environment. It's part of the culture. It's more than merely stuffing a hamburger in your face. Look at the photos on the walls in Mac's. That's why you go and that's why we keep going back, and I can't wait to get down there again in a few weeks.

I for one am a fan of Mac's. Really like the grilled cheeseburger, bear battered onion rings, and strawberry milkshakes. In fact, as a child I once requested and went there to celebrate my birthday. Sad that Mac is no longer with us, but his memory will live on forever.
