All the hate for Dabo around the country in sports.

The only people that hate Dabo, are the people that has never had what Dabo has done for/at Clemson. I say that bc it's the truth, and as much as they try to second guess him, and put him down, they can not erase the success of our FB program since he's been our HC. All the incredible thing that has happen with our FB program over the past 12 years didn't just happen, it happened bc Dabo was our HC with a plan that works, and that's what people actually hate, and to hate that, they have to hate the person that has been responsible for it all!!!

There are three main groups who hate on Dabo
1 - folks who are jelly of what he has built and achieved without losing his soul in the process 2 - the woke crowd as Dabo won’t bend to them so he is a threat 3 - people piling on for attention as they know based on the size of the first two groups they will get lots of attention with their baseless attack
One of the most negative results of social media is we seem to have lost the ability to disagree without a full on attack

The woke crowd are Christian hating atheists. Dabo wears his Christianity in the open for all to see. Hence, the woke crowd hate him and want to see him fail.

That is not what woke means. "Woke" people are against racism and injustice. It has nothing to do with atheism or hating Christians. People do seem to use it as a catch-all phrase now, but that is not from the original usage.

No they don’t. The stated goal may be justice and tolerance but their actions portray something else entirely. They will riot and loot a city over a justified police interaction (see Freddy Gray or Brianna Taylor) but look the other way at 1000s of BoB shootings. True justice required discipline and accountability. They ask for tolerance yet try to cancel anyone who does not fall in like with their world view

Yep that’s a huge part of it. But the beauty of it is, dabo knows Christ himself warned “if the world hates you, keep in mind, it hated me first”… dabo knows that a cross is to bear at times because of his open faith, but he welcomes it I’m sure, as did Christ

I believe anytime that you are trying to do the right thing there will be criticism. Sometimes when you have critics wear it as a badge of honor in knowing that you are doing what is right by these young men. Sometimes when you are accepted by everyone that may be a sign that you are just blending in with the masses and in hearing Dabo speak about his faith he understands that the believer is to be set apart and salt and light in what has become a very dark world.

The trend that I see when it comes to coverage of Dabo
Aug 7, 2022, 10:05 AM
|
|
is that those who take the time to actually interview the man, or review an entire press conference for context, they have a much different story to tell. Most in the industry though are too lazy and simply focus on bits and pieces that others have reported on without putting in the time and work to gain a proper perspective. If they're a hometown writer with another program, that approach makes it even easier on them.
It's not that they hate Dabo, many are just lazy and lack the standards that, before online outlets and self-publishing exploded onto the scene, would have left their work on the cutting room floor and out of print.

Correct! Most of the "journalist" who write about Dabo are not journalist at all and never interview him like a competent writer would do. They repeat what they have read and then add their spin to it. It is not unlike the talking heads on cable news that never listen to what someone actually says, but what someone says they said or from a five second sound bite, usually taken out of context.

Can we get past feeling like victims? Have a thicker skin. Every person in the public eye receives criticism.
America hates a hero. Always has. At the beginning of the republic, Jeffersonians assailed Washington and Hamilton. Everybody ganged up on John Adams. In the 19th century, muck-rakers would print outright lies to impugn the reputation of any in power (sound familiar?). During WW2, George Marshall, George Patton, Omar Bradley, MacArthur, and Eisenhower all had their reputations tarnished by outrage and innuendo.
Now it's not just politicians and robber barons who suffer the slings and stings of arrows of envy and jealousy. Everyone with a public persona is assailed by anyone with a web presence. It's "mean girls" and "mean boys" and just downright mischievousness. Find those feet of clay; destroy reputations of those who intend good, just because you disagree with their philosophy; give yourself permission to lie about obvious fact because the lie can make you money . . . or get you fame.
Hate is nothing new. Lying is nothing new. "By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell - and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed." Adolf Hitler

I don't see hate for Dabo. I'm not at all sure there is much hate for the college coach with the second best record in the sport over the last decade.
The only active coaches in the nation who are winning more than 80% of their games are Day, Deboer, Riley, Smart, Dabo and Saban. Most people don't know who Deboer is. Day and Riley have only a few years under their belt, but plenty of people dislike Riley, the Traitor, Day because he is at TOSU, Smart because he is at Georgia and Saban for his God-like approach to the mic. Only Saban and Dabo have more than 1 Natty. Dabo played in 4 Title games in only 5 years and he is 2-2 in those four appearances.
Who is who hates him? Well SC hates him. Day is probably still made he lost a game to Dabo? Who else hates him?
I think nationally Dabo has a sterling reputation. He is winning big at a place most think is second tier. He has 2 Nattys. His players graduate from school. His players like him. I think he is nearly every fan's dream coach.
Who hates him? Look, I am a church going Christian. Please don't come at the world as if guys like me, Dabo, you, and millions of other white Christians are somehow targets and get picked on. That is an absurd view of America and the world. We are the mainline of America. We are the majority faith group.
Are their people who want to talk about and hope to see sin and hypocrisy among Christians? Yes of course. And we give our critics much to shoot at.
But idea lots of people hate Dabo? Not really a big head count.

No one hates Dabo. Opposing fan bases direct trash talk at your head coach the same way you direct trash talk back to them. Ever read anything negative here about Kirby Smart or Nick Saban, or Ryan Day, Jimbo? You don't actually hate those guys because you don't know those guys (you don't know Dabo either but that's another discussion).
No one in national media hates Dabo. They roll their eyes a little at the "little ol Clemson" stuff because they know he as a national powerhouse of a program. They are smart enough to know that kind of talk is pecifically for the Clemson fan base, who eat it up.

I don't think it is hate, it is envy. As we know every day, any person or group that dares to oppose the status quo is a radical. If people would stop listening to the mainstream media and not buy into their constant bs, we would have a better nation because people would be following their hearts.

Clemson/Dabo was loved for knocking off Bama...
Aug 7, 2022, 11:49 AM
|
|
and ripping the spotlight away from Bama. As more people watched Clemson and tracked Clemson's movement through the seasons it became apparent that Clemson was more than a passing trend or a fad which would soon disappear.
At that point people became jealous of Clemson with the same jealousy they had for Alabama. Rather than wanting to see Clemson win they began to watch Clemson games in hopes that Clemson would return to the days when we'd lose games and be left out of the playoff.
They got a bit of a reprieve and relief last year when we only won ten games and missed the playoff.
I have one thing to say to them. 'If you think the caused the last ten years of your football fandom misery you're probably not going to love the next ten.'

I’ve never seen Dabo bring his own microphone. He’s the most interviewed coach at ACC media days because he will be honest and tell you what he thinks. I’m guessing that’s what your referring to. Was listening to the FSU coach do a interview the other day and I can see how a person would fall asleep if he talked for more than a minute. It was all coach speak with zero substance, cliche after cliche. If you ask Dabo a question, you get a real answer. I’m assuming that’s what you do not like about him.
I like someone who tells you what they really believe, doesn’t kiss ### to go along with everyone else, and the hell with the folks who cannot handle it

They hate him because he proudly proclaims his Christian faith and he says what he thinks doesn’t candy coat it or say the political correct thing. You get what you get with Dabo. He’s a honest man that values education most of all because he knows how it can change the path of your life.

When you’re at the top, you always take shots. It’s expected. And it seems Dabo actually likes it. He knows exactly when to throw a bone to keep the feeding frenzy going.
If I had to bet I’d say he’s never lost a second of sleep over something someone said about him. Real leaders have better things to do. And he’s smart enough to know the time to be concerned is when no one is saying anything about him.

I don’t believe there is much hate for Dabo.
Aug 8, 2022, 10:10 PM

The overwhelming majority respect and admire him, and how couldn’t they?
The small amount of dislike for him seems to be the result of his strong opinions. He is outspoken and has never met a question he didn’t answer in detail. That’s bound to result in some critics when you’re a prominent college football coach. I would guess that this trait has made him far more fans than enemies though.
Remember, today anyone can call themselves a journalist or columnist or reporter. All they need is a website or a YouTube account. That has resulted in a lot more mouthpieces - and also a higher likelihood that someone with an axe to grind can say something bad about someone and get some traction.
