Wow. The financial impact of us going to CFP just hit me
Nov 10, 2015, 9:14 PM

After shelling out money for tickets, parking, lodging etc for the ACCCG, it just dawned on me... if Clemson goes to CFP there will be another one or two trips this year. Normally, one bowl trip is pretty expensive. This year could mean 3 "bowl" trips.
I hope it doesn't affect our attendance. I've already heard some folks say that they would pass on semi-final game in order to go to AZ.

Yep.... I live in TX and have estimated it will cost between 4-6k for me and the wife go to both games. Miami is crazy expensive a decent hotel (3 star) will run you 500/night on NYE... not to mention how over priced everything else is. AZ ain't gonna be much better, hotels for the Super Bowl last yr were around 800/night.... I know the NC is not the Super Bowl but I am willing to bet there will be price gouging going on...

Is a great option instead of hotels. Cheaper and really neat places in some cases I'm sure Miami has some great homes for cheap.

Good suggestion.... I have never used it... I will look into that. Thx! What really sucks is I don't see any way we could play in Dallas! By my estimation the only way we could play in Dallas is if we are 4th... I don't see that happening.

especially the near future as next year. However, I always suggest everyone to do things that you want to do when opportunity arises. You'll never know.

Or we might do it next year.
Its like baseball at the trade deadline, you either make the trades and buy into your team, or you don't. Not much in between.. I'm all in!

I heart bowl games. They cost me half of what it cost me to

attend homes games. I can get good tickets for under $30. I can find decent parking for under $20. And I am not required to stay 2 nights in a normally $50/night hotel for $500/night. I can find a hotel nearby for $100-$200, depending on how far I want to drive.
Bowl games are cheap compared to going to Clemson home games.

Got great seats for the 2014 Orange Bowl for $35/ea. Then got VIP parking for $20 right at the stadium the day of. Pick up at the Stub Hub location at the stadium.
Obviously wouldn't be the same scenario for a playoff bid, but still can probably find a good deal.

If you are planning to go to those games for sure your best bet is to go to www.teamtix.com
You buy the rights for Clemson tickets at face value which is $450 upper deck $550 lower deck. If they make that game then you have to buy them but you get that price. Unfortunately, rights are up to $205 for Clemson. Most of any team. I got mine for $20.

I know... I'm afraid Miami/Dallas won't be well attended for
Nov 10, 2015, 10:05 PM

the prospect of waiting to go to the "real" championship in Glendale. My Buddy lives 10 minutes from Sun Life Stadium, so I could always crash with him, but I still have to fly down there.
I am so broke.... I don't know what to do b/c this is the opportunity of a lifetime and I would never forgive myself if I didn't go.

Wife and I already priced out playoff games and it just ain't happenin'. I know, I know... once in a lifetime, but hell. It just doesn't mesh with our finances and work.
And I still cringe at how much I dropped on Miami in 2012 to watch that game.
It's okay. I can still enjoy it with family and close friends back home. Those who can afford it, cheer extra loud for me.

Miami, then to Phoenix and then back home. It's not too bad. (I'll use mileage and I have a companion pass that I will use for my wife.)
But the game tix prices will hit me quite a bit. Also, 10 days apart concerns me.
