I realize this may start an argument but I’m a little upset with

Jun 13, 2018, 11:11 AM

My wife today. I’ve mentioned that I recently got out of the military and moved to Arkansas. My wife and son are at a beta convention meeting in Savannah today. Outside they have bojangles food truck and boiled peanuts food truck. I’m disgusted. I’m here in central Arkansas with no bojangles, no boiled peanuts, no cheerwine, and no wife. Let the bojangles vs chick-fil-a vs zaxby’s commence but I for one am a little pissed. That and Dabo deciding to go Steve spurrier and stop recruiting his last few years before taking over at Alabama. Not a good day.

I'm sorry to hear you don't have nare boiled p-nut to eat! Myfavjr. and I boiled some Saturday and ate some last night. Text your wife and asked her to stop by a produce stand or a local grocery store and purchase you a bushel of green peanuts! You can freeze them and cook them through out the summer and fall while you watch Clemson kick tail this year!!

Now that’s a good idea! Two thumbs up to you!***

I have never tried Bojangles.

Jun 13, 2018, 11:22 AM

That good?

Re: I have never tried Bojangles.

Jun 13, 2018, 11:31 AM

What is wrong with you, are you a Yankee?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not sure what I qualify as.

Jun 13, 2018, 11:34 AM

I was raised in California. I lived in South Carolina for 8 years. Now I live in Florida. Maybe I am a yankee. I have a Bojangles about 2 miles from my house near the entrance to 95. I never have stopped in.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That sir is an absolute tragedy

Jun 13, 2018, 11:47 AM

Go order a Cajun filet biscuit combo with bo-rounds with a Pepsi mixed with Fanta cherry. You can feel your blood pressure rising as you order it. But it's glorious!

You can thank me in advance

Add cheese to biscuit

Jun 13, 2018, 11:51 AM

Or better yet, bring your own piece of sharp cheddar

Re: Add cheese to biscuit

Jun 13, 2018, 12:35 PM

If it's not sharp cheddar, why bother with eating cheese bc anything less is actually tasteless!!!

Re: Add cheese to biscuit

Jun 13, 2018, 9:23 PM

The only Cheddar cheese we allow in my abode is EXTRA SHARP, the sharper the better.

Now, about them there boiled P-nuts, I need about one peck for starters. When you hear a boiled p-nut lover say, "I'm gonna have just one more", he/she is lying through their front teeth. The only time that statement is true is when there is only one p-nut left.

Do any of you know where I can get green peanuts later on? I don't know of any peanut farmers here in the Clemson area. Need a sandy loam for peanuts.

Re: Add cheese to biscuit

Jun 14, 2018, 8:57 AM

That is for sure. Two things that Yankee's don't eat that southerners love, and that's grits and boiled P-Nuts. That had to have been a blessing that God bestowed on the south, and that was so that we never had a shortage on either. As we know, once a Yankee finds something that interest them, they abuse it or try and change it until they screw it up!!! ;)

Bacon and hot sauce too

Jun 13, 2018, 4:34 PM [ in reply to Add cheese to biscuit ]

Mix a bbq sauce with hot sauce to dip the seasoned fries in and wash it down with a sweet tea!

Re: Bacon and hot sauce too

Jun 14, 2018, 9:03 AM

I have been born and raised in SC by SC born parents that loved their sweet ice tea but, putting sugar in tea for me personally is an absolutely NO NO!!! Sun brewed un-sweeten ice tea on a hot summer day hits the spot for me!!!

It is hard to beat when you need a greasy fix

Jun 13, 2018, 12:04 PM

I've often wondered what Chick-fil-a Spicy Chicken would taste like on a Bojangles biscuit. I think that would be a fast food culinary heaven

It would be H&ll to pay for a person like myself without a gallbladder, and mine was removed years ago. Spicy/greasy foods no longer exist in my diet anymore but, it took a long time for me to come to the conclusion that spicy/greasy foods were causing me great misery!!! :(

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's fast food, but I'd be there before any other chain.

Jun 13, 2018, 12:49 PM [ in reply to Not sure what I qualify as. ]

Plus the sweet tea.. mmmmmmmm.

Cajun fillet biscuit is pretty good but other than that nothing to write home about...

What part of Florida? You know what they say: “the further south you go, the further north you are...”

If you live much below Orlando or Tampa, you probably are a yankee...

hth?

??

Re: Not sure

Jun 14, 2018, 7:18 PM

Like I've said Uncle, anything the Yankee's find that interest them, they abuse it or screw it up. Now tell, wouldn't you say that Florida is now a pretty screwed up place after all the Yankee snow birds have about taken over Florida???

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How do you live in SC for 8 years and not

Jun 13, 2018, 5:23 PM [ in reply to Not sure what I qualify as. ]

eat at a Bojangles at least once.. It's not too late to seek forgiveness, though.

I've never been impressed with Bojangles chicken any style but, IMO, they do have some of the best breakfast biscuits than any of the fast food breakfast biscuits. They actually use a good made/brand sausage in their sausage biscuits!!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

not as good as homemade but better than kfc and others imo

Jun 13, 2018, 11:47 AM [ in reply to I have never tried Bojangles. ]

My kids love the biscuits. I don’t mind popeyes, in fact I like it, but a good bojangles is good. There are a few out there that are sub par imo

Cheerwine can be found at your local Cracker Barrel.

I used to live in SW Arkansas for 3.5 years...if you can manage a short trip to Hot Springs, do yourself a favor and go to McClard's BBQ and order a Tamale Spread.

I've been back in SC for almost 2 years now and that's the one thing I miss/crave the most about Arkansas. That thing is incredible.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Went to mcclards recently and was disappointed with the bbq but

Jun 13, 2018, 1:04 PM

I may give it another chance for the tamale spread

No Bojangles? Try moving up here to Eastern NC....

Jun 13, 2018, 12:50 PM

They don't have any BBQ sauce!!!! Just a bunch of vinegar!! You don't realize how good you have it son.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually I grew up there near rocky mount Wilson and now my mom lives in Wallace so I know

Jun 13, 2018, 1:01 PM
