With his frame, at RB, should he add 10-15 lbs in the offseason? At close to 235, he could be quite a mix of RB, Tight End, WR, FB. Could open up 2 back sets, put him in motion, line him up as a blocking back… even as a tight end… going tempo, and giving us multiple formation looks, while locking the defense into a set of players on the field to get mismatches that we like. This seems like a good experiment. If he can keep his speed with some more weight. Do people think he can be an effective blocker against LB/DE types?

I like it all the except for the weight. I don’t think He needs more weight. Might make him slower…

I agree. 225 is more than enough weight. He could be an excellent 3rd down back, regardless of distance. I am very high in the AR to RB move. That back SMU had was a former WR, and he seemed pretty good to me. AR on third down would have the size to run short yardage, and the hands to catch it out of the backfield on longer 3rd downs.

That’s what’s hurt him at receiver since he got here. Maybe he was faster before the knee injury but if he was he never recovered that speed.

....if he adds 15 lbs of muscle in what amounts to like 6 months of training, he is either juicing like H3LL or adding bad weight and either way he is going to be a good deal slower. He is big enough to be used pretty much anywhere on the field to create match up nightmares for a defense. Kind of like the 49ers use Deebo Samuel. Adam just needs to focus on adding good weight and maintaining or adding speed without losing the mass he already has.

1000% agree. He's already built. Excellent comparison to deebo too. The man don't mind blowing up a linebacker. In fact, I think he'd relish the fact. I'm stoked and can't wait. The packages we could run are exponential. It could really stress defenses having to account for the different variables.
Get that big boy as your check down on 3rd and 6... he'll truck peeps to get a first down. And no one on the team deserves it more than Randall.

15lbs in six months isn’t hard. That’s super easy. I went from 135 to 190 in a year through nutrition. Granted I was eating 10-12,000 calories a day which was 95% protein. I was also spending four hours a day doing the 5 days split workout to allow muscle recovery.
At 53, I went from well over 215 down to 165 and back up to 176 since July. Caloric deficit to cut weight and protein loading to build muscle mass. That’s five days a week at two plus hours. I’d post pics but nobody wants to see that. The after is pretty good but the before isn’t. Never taken steroids except the one time I had pneumonia

Good for you....but I would argue what you described would be impossible for someone like Adam to do. And dude what you did was hard, you just probably don't see it that way as you are being humble about your accomplishments.
For Adam he would have to eat and lift and nothing else, no drills, no catching footballs, and limit his cardio. Even if he did find time to do "all the things" his body would not be able to rest enough to recuperation and build tissue without juicing.

People really do not get how much 15 lbs of muscle is, especially when you're an athlete that's trained for a sport for the past 8 years(although i do believe the Clemson S&C program needs to be evaluated).

I'm not too sure about the Deebo comparison as he was/is a speed back. He has good size, but but much faster than I think Adam is. I do think the way that they are used can be comparable. I like Adam more as something like an H back where he can block, carry the ball some, and be a reliable receiver, mostly in short yardage. I'm sure Dabo will figure it out.

Adding 15 pounds of muscle in 6 months in no way, shape, or form indicates juicing or bad weight lol.
That’s essentially just over 2 pounds a month, with expert nutritionists and trainers. It’s also more like 8 months.
That said, he doesn’t need to add the weight, so you’re right on that aspect.

Didn’t Dabo just say he weighs 230 now?! I wouldn’t add any weight. Just knowledge and let the man eat! (Play)

I’m thinking Adam could be a bad man at tight end. Add some strength and weight. Could be special.

I would like it if we better developed the RBs on our roster instead of having to move a reserve WR to RB. This should have occurred as the season progressed.
