He says off the wall stuff sometimes but I don’t think he would’ve posted this without some kind of info. Could be just for clicks though, so we will just have to wait and see. It makes sense though Clemson has been pretty silent, which most likely means they’ve been working hard to figure it out without doing all of the FSU grandstanding. We are usually pretty good with getting all of our ducks in a row first.

any changes to the league's make-up would actually void the current GOR and serve as cause for a reset. The recent additions of Cal, Stanford and SMU would constitute that as I understand from that standpoint. It was also understood that in order for the ACC to maintain its deal with ESPN and keep the ACC network that it needed to remain at 14 programs minimum.
It could very well be that the other members of the ACC who pushed for and ultimately voted for this expansion were simply lobbying to maintain the ESPN and network relationship with the understanding, and belief, that 2-3 schools would be leaving soon and that this move would protect them longer term.

I have said many times on this board that the ACC isn't voting to expand. They are voting to replace what is leaving. I think Miami and UNC will follow. I also think the ACC adds one more school for the 4 in 4 out.

My guess would be South Florida as that 4th addition.
It could be also that FSU, UNC, and us had worked out an internal agreement with the remainder ahead of them taking that expansion step. Too much talk of 'staying at 14' around that last move not to suspect some flames behind the smoke.

Clemson has been working feverishly behind the scenes to find a path out of the GOR which should not come as a surprise to anyone.
One avenue that was being pursued was whether the ACC provided inaccurate or misleading information as a basis for coercing the member institutions to sign the GOR.

I really enjoyed the responses to Sapakoff tweet/X post by all the in-bred chicken fans trying to pretend they were not fretting.
Why would they fret? Literally the only advantage their football program has over Clemson is the SEC money and recruiting pull. If Clemson were to join the SEC it would remove that one and only thing they have as an advantage over us.
