Ha, the Big12 is a good overall conference and would give us a much better path to the football playoffs every year. They have a great baseball, basketball and golf conference just to name a few. The Big12 schools are more compatible to us than either the Big10 or SEC are and we would add huge value to their tv money. Money wise, we add more value to the Big10 but they don't need any more teams. With us being so close to Georgia and South Carolina, I am not sure how much we add to the SEC.

No. Absolutely no. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the ACC, but I grew up in Big 12 country, just outside of Austin, to a family of Aggies. That is a horrible conference, and the matchups are generally garbage. Every big schools favorite day in the Big 12 conference, was the day they left.

He could have saved a lot of word salad by just saying the Big 12 seems happy with their second tier choices and the ACC is lamenting that there are no real good choices to be had so why continue to dilute the money we are getting now and expand the gap even further.
The reality is the SEC snookered everyone with their successful coup, the B1G reacted quickly enough to add what they could in response, the Big 12-20 jumped in and took the best of the sloppy seconds that remained, and the ACC simply watched it all unfold and did nothing.
Now, we either figure a way out or we wait it out until the next real and final reorganization takes place.

If you snooze you lose and the ACC is in a self induced coma. So they deserve what they get.

Agreed 74TIGER the ACC went on snooze control twenty years ago and watched back in 2007 as the B1G launched its network then sat back and watched another 7 years when the SEC launched their network in 2014. Just bad leadership that squandered a dominant industry position with a wait and see attitude. The ACC is definitely reaping what they didn't sow.

the Big 12 has a ton of tier 2 teams but they are still a relevant conference due to size and scope. The ACC on the other hand seems to be dying on the vine since they can't seem to find a team worth adding. In the current environment, it's grow or die...

The Big 12 is safe because nobody wants any of the teams they have. They signed a new TV deal recently, when tv rights are at their highest, and its only for $31 million per team. The ACC teams are lamenting their tv deal and make much more than that. The ACC is toast because they have 3-5 desirable schools that are propping up the conference but not reaping the rewards.

The fans were right in 1982, but no one listened. That was the time to check out of the ACC.
