What say you? The left coast is shaky… but whatever.

Appears likely as the teams are taking a reduced share and ESPiN upped the ante.

Will make for some long, and pricey, road trips, but it's fun to venture out. All good!

It doesn't really matter if those schools take reduced shares, they're not being given full "pro-rata" because ESPN can't afford it as they're going bankrupt and being actively shopped around. The issue is that in 5-7 years, when those schools reduced deals expire, not only will the $54 million "slush fund" that ESPN simps seem to be promoting be all dried up, but those new teams will still only be bringing in $24 million (minus any escalators) per school, whereas every current member brings in $39.4 million. Are these new schools only taking $24 million annually until the GOR is up in 2036, or will the pot, with the additional $72 million, now be equally distributed to all schools, which based on current numbers, would reduce every schools payout by nearly $3 million dollars annually. Adding those 3 schools is value dilutive, and will trigger lawsuits by every school that is a no on this vote as it changes the terms of the original deal and now causes financial harm. So, these schools may get added, but as long as Clemson is a "no" vote, that may help them in any legal challenges.

Sadly I feel that the ACC will take Stanford, Cal-Berkley and SMU as an act of desperation rather than practicality. I love their outstanding academic reputations but the distance doesn't make sense at all. The politics is another strange mix as well. It will happen but I wish it wouldn't. Big 10 and Big 12 passed and so should the ACC.

It's grow or die. Unfortunately, the ACC has the same thought over the years given there has never been the perfect candidate, so they have sat on their hands until its almost too late (or maybe it is too late).

Previously, someone posted the GOR provisions for expansion. It seemed to allow the addition of teams under the contract without repercussions.

Apparently there will be an actual vote by the university presidents tonight to add Stanford, Cal, and SMU.
