I don't know what they're calling for today knowing that it changes daily, but 2-3 days ago they were saying this storm could slam into Tampa as a category 5. Anything category 4-5 can completely destroy anything in it's path. I've said it a million times, nothing scares me more than pisssed off weather conditions!!! And it's not smart to challenge Mother Nature bc she can make you look like an idiot!!!

Some Calling For Storm Surge Over 12' in Tampa Bay Area

There are developed parts of the bay area this will engulf. There are tens of thousands of elderly in this area too, this will make Helene look like the Coots in football.

Anyone within 15 miles of the coast should evacuate.

Anyone living in a mobile home inside the cone should evaluate.
Anyone who needs electricity for medical purposes (machines) should evacuate.
Anyone with an elderly parent who may be emotionally or physically affected because of a power outage should evacuate.
Anyone who lives in a flood zone, like the St. Johns River, should evacuate.
People should not take this hurricane lightly.
My county has been designated an evacuation area for people to come to if they need to evacuate. We have several schools and churches who are equipped and prepared to receive evacuees. People are already arriving from both coasts to our county.
With each new update Lake County is getting better news. Last night at 8:00 the eyewall was projected to go within 15 miles of my house. With the 5:00 PM update today it is projecting the eyewall will be over 60 miles from my house. Now, it could change. Milton could wobble back to the north. But, if it continues the trend (as one local meteorologist is projecting it will) moving the cone slightly southward that will be good news for me, but bad news for those folks 50-100 miles south of me.
We will probably still lose power, but hopefully not for as long as it appeared we would a day or two ago.

Nope. But you can use your EV truck to power everything from the coffee maker to the refrigerator and other key appliances for a few days while your power is out.

Makes one wonder how miserable it must be to live up north that they’d rather
1. Move to an area that routinely gets hurricanes 2. Rebuild in the same spot if their house is demolished as opposed to moving back up north

Driving an EV is the absolute worst thing you can do after a natural disaster.

A car or truck was one of the only things working for a lot of people. Unless you have generator I guess. Still better off with a gas engine with some stored in reserve for these situations.
And if you think we can change the weather by getting in EV's you have been badly badly suckered.

My daughter as I posted, works at Disney and she has to work tomorrow until 100pm and then they closing the park. This allows no time to evacuate if she even wanted to. Disappointed that money is more important than your employees

If that hits Tampa as a Cat 5, Tampa Bay will demolish everything around it.

It is expected to weaken and hit the coast as a Cat 3. But, it is still to be taken very seriously. It is projected to remain a hurricane for the entire trip across Florida and enter the Atlantic, just south of Cape Canaveral, as a Cat 1.
That will still cause tremendous damage and flooding to the coast line.

After the erc, it's come back to 165 cat 5 with pressure 902 mb. Dropped a little pressure. That was 8pm advisory.
Prayers that it doesn't wobble Northside of the cone.

I sure as heck wouldnt make assumptions on what it will landfall as. This morning the pressure is even lower than it was last night. This thing is in pure beast mode.
