at the half of the Pitt-Penn State game, after which Clemson would ascend to the No. 1 ranking in college football for the first time ever, about how Clemson was alleged to have cheated. We all know it was their attempt to belittle the Orange Bowl, which Clemson would play in and pump up the Sugar Bowl, which would be relegated to the No. 2 game on New Years' night with Pitt (who was about to lose to Penn State and lose the No. 1 ranking) playing Georgia.
Fast forward 39 years and ABC is at it again, trying to pull in Notre Dame into our game against Va Tech in order to be sure that everyone remembers that Notre Dame will be playing in the ACC Championship game against Clemson in two weeks (if we make it past Va Tech) with a interview with the Notre Dame quarterback for most of the third quarter.
When I turn on the TV all I want to do is watch the game. The announcers and anything they have to say add nothing. The only one I've thought was worth tuning in to was Keith Jackson for college football.

from nearly 40 years ago has to do with last night’s game, and how all of that proves that there is some conspiracy against us.
Sorry, not buying it, especially since ABC and ESPN have given us tons of positive press these last few years.

They had the Book interview lined up because they expected the game to be over by the middle of the 3rd Q and they wanted to be able to fill some time.

incident with Jim Lampley, and the Ian Brook deal last night.
I will say that the 1981 deal was all done at halftime. The Ian Book ramblings we're done during live action. If Ian Book played for Texas, Oklahoma, or Alabama, it would not have happened. The problem is old timer Notre Dame fans have waited a long time to be relevant. That said, a 1-10 Syracuse team rolled up 414 yards and 21 points of offense on ND. I'm not too worried about the rematch.

I turn off the sound and listen to good rock and roll during the game. Anyone that needs the announcers to tell them what is going on is not enough of a football fan to watch at my house.

a big IPTAY member in Tennessee that had helped the Cofer and Minor families long before their kids became high school football stars. Brezeale was in Clemson that weekend for the IPTAY BB tourney. I was working at Bollwinkles at the time and the owners had a condo next to Brezeale. We invited him to come to our small party, and he came with a badge that read "I am an ABC Celebrity".
Neither Cofer or Minor attended Clemson.
