One of the only things left from my college dorm room. 31 years and hasn't missed a lick.

I've been in that cell block, I mean area in 94. Was still in HS but visiting friends. Every room had weed growing, lamps or something that could get everyone expelled lol.

My RA freshman year knocked on our door one Friday afternoon and announced a room inspection. A group of us were tossing back some beers. He came in the room and looked around and asked, "ya'll been drinking?" It was obvious, so we fessed up. He said, "ok, just wanted to make sure," and walked out of the room. I don't think the normal set of rules applied at The Stone.

Every rule the place had was broken, with doors wide open that night. It was so bad that an email greeted us all the next morning telling us how stupid we were. I don't know exactly where we all went Saturday, but I recall the hall being oddly quite when we stumbled back in.

People always talked shid about the living conditions, but after visiting other freshmen dorms and seeing how quiet and tame everything was, I realized there's no way I could have lived in those conditions as a 17/18 year old. My time at The Stone always brings back great memories.

Our RA came, knocked on the door, and invited us to a party at his frat for rush. Free beer, hawt women, good time.

His rule on drinking was he didn't want to see it. Period. That's it. No beer cans in the hallways. They should all be thrown in the trash. In black garbage bags. Simple.

After Shannon Gill nosedived off the 3rd floor window in the frat quad and impaled herself on a holly bush, they made all the fun stop.

Open quad parties with police escorts to make sure your car didn't get broken into..it was awesome.

My first week in Johnstone there was a circle of chicks sitting on the floor near the door, passing a bottle of Jack Daniels and a joint around. Nobody seemed to care.

Yeah, by the mid-90's the fun had diminished.

I remember as a kid in the 80's walking past Johnstone D and seeing guys 4 floors up sitting on the ledge, with a jam box, a 6-pack of beer and smoking who knows what.
