A brief musical interlude post

I recently saw lots here about which female singers are better etc. Today there are some mighty good ones. MY post is to point out if you listen to Patsy Cline and consider the era and technology used when she lived and recorded, her music still stands the test of time and stacks up with anyone around today. Also it isn't always a person's overall voice. Patsy always did something special with her songs as far as feeling and emotion.

She was an all-timer no doubt....along with Aretha, Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Koko Taylor, Tina Turner and Norah Jones. Just my personal preferences.

She has some pipes for sure. No lip syncing for her while crushing it on the Eiffel Tower.

I read a newspaper article that asserted that all of the vocal performances for the opening ceremony were pre-recorded. Not to diminish what Celine accomplished at all - very moving to see her blow this away if you watched the documentary about her illness. I am sure she would’ve been willing to do this live, but there is so much that can go wrong with producing live audio - not to mention in a driving rain. I really hated seeing two pianos drenched and one set afire, haha. I can totally understand the decision to go completely prerecorded.

One i haven't seen listed... Martina McBride has the best voice in country or pop since Linda Ronstadt.

Some good ones here so far…would add Whitney Houston, Adele, and Ella Fitzgerald. Lady Gaga with an honorable mention.
