the issue is - the Tiger defense is going to prevent you from executing. So Finley is saying, "If Clemson is Wake Forest, then we are going to win".

If ANY team executes they win. What a stupid thing to say. I’m so glad they’re giving us locker room material. Our guys will not be sleepwalking into this one like they usually are. Even with all the sleepwalking our guys have done we’ve still won what like 13 out of the last 14? I personally want to thank Finley and whoever his second rate RB is. Keep talking.

NCSU A-game < Clemson C+-game.
The disparity in depth is that deep! The only way they hang around is if "Clemson" shoots itself in the foot. If the Tigers can not turn it over and avoid the "nothing to do with NCSU penalties" we win! Finley is a really good QB! But, they don't have the OL Syracuse has. We can get to him. They don't play as fast and more important: "they haven't been tested a lick besides BC who were w/o their two best offensive players"! They still went to Raleigh and only lost by 5. And CU is a long way from BC. We could lose two WR's and two RB's and have more talent than NCSU. We just have to "not beat ourselves and limit the big play from them.

Well Coach V , the D has not exactly played lights out vs NCST here lately.
They have all confidence in moving the ball next Sat.
If this is not enough to have a focused hungry unit then I don’t know what is.
It’s time to put them in their place , show them they are a long way from beating Clemson.

ain't gonna lie... this one concerns me. don't get me wrong, clemson is definitely the better team and if clemson even plays their B+ game... we win. but, what concerns me more than anything is this: 13-1 over the last 14... they're due.. if you flip a quarter 15 times, i'd bet you $100 it'll land on tails at least twice.
w/ that said.. eliminate the TO's and play sound D.. and, it's 14-1.

Thank goodness they can’t win because of a flip of a coin.
We have beaten them regularly because we have better players.
This season even more so than the past.
I think they have been lucky to hang with us the last 2 years

A) In 2016 the D gave up 10 points in spite of 4 turnovers.
B) They knocked out our all-everything RB and stripped his backup. Then we stopped running the ball.
Finley had his worst game and the K missed (or had blocked) 3 FGAs. BV's defense will not be AWOL.

The coin flip analogy is fundamentally flawed. It assumes a “fair” coin where both heads and tails are equally likely. In the case of Clemson vs NCSU, nobody would say the sides are equally likely to occur. While upsets do occur, the majority of the time the better team wins.
The more they talk the less likely we are to overlook them - so keep on talking.

I'm extremely excited that everyone seems confident about this game... but the last two games we have played them have been extremely close...this isn't an option team they will throw it against our defense and our greatest weakness... the secondary... I hope it is a blow out but I wouldn't be acting like a coot boosting my chest when we haven't proved anything on defense to stop the pass this season.

Berkleytiger The chances of us giving them the # of gifts we have given them the past two years is minimal. They were good last year and senior heavy. They still have a good QB and a RB that was a 4 star nearly 5 star talent coming out of H.S. but, who have they played to this point?
The one team with a pulse didn't have their two best players and still hung with them. And BC is all about running the football and didn't have A.J. Dillon. In fact, I think NCSU had to score a non-offensive TD to put them over top. That game was in Raleigh.
Maybe they are tough; but can't see a Wolfpack victory. Not even a moral victory if the Tigers play w/o turning it over and committing a bunch of penalties or having a ton of missed tackles. We do those 3 things I give the Wolfpack a less than 10% chance of winning!

I just rewatched last year's contest, and Finley started 15-15 passing, and NCSU led 21-17 at the half. They were in the game until the very last play. So YES - NCSU is good enough to win this game. I don't think they will due to what we learned about them last year. They lost a lot, and a lot of our guys came back. We need to get to Finley, or NCSU will hang around or lead the entire game. It might be another 4th quarter finish if we can't shut Finley down, or at least slow him down. If NCSU wins, it will be thru the air, but that's their bread and butter IMO.
I'll be happy with a 3-point win.

Without having read the comments, and having read the article only once, I find nothing at all about the quarterback's comments incendiary or disrespectful - if you disagree, read it again, closely, and ignore the title of the article which is something close to click bait.
Clemson just needs to keep doing what it has been doing: winning. And the more Clemson wins, the more people will chime in, hoping that they don't.
And if Clemson loses to someone? So what. They're still one of the Top 2 teams in the country over the past five years. People can argue that, but they'd be wrong.
