I looked at the calendar this morning and realized it was 1/25/21. That will make me 99.1667 years young. Ten more months and I should reach 100 (if all goes well) on Thanksgiving Day. It's going to take a lot of turkeys to feed the crowd.
Every morning I thank God for bringing me safely through the night and my being able to get out of bed. I hope you guys and gals can live to a ripe old age and enjoy every minute as I have. Don't worry about things you can't control but work as hard as you can to master those things only you can control. Life should be fun, not a drudge and never forget to say "thank you" and "I love you".

Thanksgiving? That's cool, probably the best holiday to celebrate a birthday and have good prospects of getting a lot of presents. (I know that's probably not that important to you now, but I bet it was as a kid!)
Worst would be within a week of Christmas, everyone will just get one present for both. (I have relatives in this situation. Not close enough relatives for me to get them a birthday present, though!)

There are a lot of interesting and funny folks on this board, but Joe, you are truly an inspiration. I feel blessed to “know” you. You need to write several books about the things you’ve experienced in your soon to be 100 years. You’ll easily hit that mark and roll that odometer over!

I love you Joe. I look forward to all of your posts. My father, was also a WW2 vet of the European Theater in the Ardennes 1944-45. He was a couple years younger than you. He was a liberator of the Jewish prisoners in the death camps after VE Day. He never told me that, I learned it form a co-worker who attended a holocaust ceremony in Columbia about 15 years ago.....

Joe, thanks for all your wisdom and insight that you share with us.
Just curious if you know or have contact with Dr. Ben Skardon at Clemson.
He was my English Professor at Clemson and is a WWII Veteran.
I think he is about 102 now. I think he still roams around Clemson, Pickens County, and New Mexico from time to time

Yes, I know Ben but haven't seen him for several months. I suppose both of us have tried to avoid going out much since the virus came to town. Ben is a remarkable gentlemen and, unless he has had health issues in recent months, is still active, both mentally and physically. I wish I were as fit as he is.
