I have seen a few posts that make great sense and many that make no sense. One thing everyone needs to remember is that there is no conference that makes every decision around football. Major colleges have around 20 athletic teams and the idea that a conference would have upwards of 24 teams is just absurd. It is hard enough to schedule games and conference tournaments with 14 teams and it would be a hopeless task with 24 or even 20.
If you just want to look at football, unless the Playoffs are changed, we have a zillion times better chance of being undefeated and in the Playoffs in the ACC than we would in the SEC or Big10, period.
You are right but that is not the point. University Presidents and AD's understand the climate in the nation and women's sports are very, very important. Try figuring out how to have a conference basketball, tennis, track and field, softball, soccer and so on and leave out 10 or 12 teams. Explain that to recruits and potential NIL folks.
