I just don’t understand this line of thinking? Don’t see how you can say this with the current state of affairs in recruiting. Especially if you want to compete at a high level.

Our answer isn’t the portal heavy Deion way. But it IS the pay the best players at key positions out of HS way. If we can’t see that and adapt, we’ll perish

Dabo s openly anti portal and has NEVER tried to get a lot of portal players.
He whiffed on the handful of scholly guys he's ever tried with the single exception of one guy coming back from NW as a grad student/backup.
Whatever he's did isn't in the same planet with "tried".

DW nor TL were dabos kids. My point is his 2 star players were not as hard to recruit when you have paid their way for 20 years. He might can keep it rolling after but I do not believe he will be able to. When he ran all those kids off his first year he burned LOTS of hs bridges.

Ya ever notice that the fathers who coach their kids in Little League usually stop coaching when their kids stop playing? Neon has no interest in coaching anyone except his kids and he will leave Colorado when his kids leave. Neon is interested in the welfare of Neon......nothing more, nothing less.

Coach Sanders does. He's reportedly the 4th highest paid coach in CFB.
Deion has no reason to leave the Buffs, barring the NFL offering him a HC job.

They are already working on flipping 5* QB Julian Lewis. They will also add more talent in the portal. Don't think they are going away as long as Deion is there.

Yep they have the best player in college football. Curious as well as to what will happen after they leave.
Got Hunter and his 2 sons a payday so I believe he is happy.

Colorado was going 1-11 and Deion was at Jackson St. Not a big fan of Deion’s approach, but what he’s doing appears to be working at the moment.

If Trevor Lawrence, CJ, Sammy, and most of the Clemson greats were coming out of High School in this era.
Someone was going to pay for their services!
And being paid would not have made them bad character guys.

Coach prime will be irrelevant after this season....his entire offense hinges on two players. Both will be gone and I suspect, Deion Sanders along with them

Deion has engineered a remarkable turnaround for that program.
From 1-11 to bowl eligible in only 1 & 2/3 seasons.
Speculation about next year doesn't change that.
No denying that he can recruit, mine the portal, and Coach his team up. Those guys have a serious work ethic.
Replacing Hunter and his son's? Chances are that he will find good replacements, since we're speculating.
