when the fed lashes funding to ideology, it forces institutions to follow suit. And so when there's a regime change, federal agencies like the DOE turn around and weaponize the law to suit their bosses and this happens.
It's a terribly regressive model.
I've experienced race exclusion first hand, having been told by HR to "hire for diversity" instead of "hire the best candidate." And we all know "hire for diversity" is an ever-moving goalpost.
For me, it meant I couldn't hire the middle aged white guy who was the best candidate, and had to instead choose between A) not filling the position, or B) filling the position with a diverse (yet woefully unqualified) candidate.
I went with option A.

There have been some things that have occurred at Clemson that I have not liked. The already posted on here post from the professor is one. Another is putting feminine products in the men’s restroom. I saw this list on X and was saddened but not surprised that Clemson was included.

I have a friend whose two boys played D1 basketball. These guys played all over the south and eastern U.S. 12 months out of the year. They couldn't understand why good white players were passed over by colleges for minorities even though many of them were better players coming out of AAU, travel teams and high school. They found out colleges received extra money for giving scholarships to minorities over whites. Yes, schools made money by not signing white players.

It’s important to note this investigation is for grad school. That’s really a different situation with all the foreign student enrollment. I would bet the number of grad students who are residents of SC is a minority of that population.
