38 and heart attack in his sleep

Yeah...my son's best high school friend and an 'ersatz' son of mine...you parents out there know the drill...leaves a wife and kids. Pain...emptiness...feels about the same right now. You've all experienced it, for sure.

I see gripes over pics posted...softball deficiencies...Pate's opinions on Clemson...and the list of negativity goes on. What you 'see' here and gripe about, which tends to be the norm, isn't life. It's a part of life...supposedly a diversion. Try to make it nothing more than a diversion.

Before you go to bed tonight...make sure to love those closest to you, in thoughts if not words/actions. Tomorrow isn't a guarantee. To ALL of you here, may you greet the sunrise.

Good night! :(

Very sad... Super nice guy and just always cool when I saw him at our neighborhood store. We don't know why, timing, of why, or why people leave... And then I wonder why certain people are allowed to keep living. I guess we'll learn it one day.

Way to early. Prayers for all involved.***

I hate to hear that Salty… will definitely lift up this family in prayer. Cannot imagine what they are dealing with it. At that age not many think about how much time they have left. 38 is young. 🙏

friends.

I've asked myself every day for the past six years why I've been allowed to live while my only son was taken at an early age. My thinking at the time of his death was of my grandchildren, as I was and am their only Granddad, so I've tried to impart to them that life is about living and dying, and we have to accept the fact that some enjoy longevity, others don't. Sometimes, there is no rhyme nor reason, but we have to persevere with our responsibilities for ourselves and others, remaining thankful for the time we are granted here on this old Earth.

My very best wishes to you, your son and his friend's family and other friends.

But this really wasn't about me. Too many seem to lose sight of what's important in life, is all. But, to hartins® point, I simply can't fathom the void left in losing a child or grandchild. I feel for him and all who have endured such an experience...

Oh...the sun rose...and here we are! A great start to a new day...do it right...you only get one shot! :)

Prayers for You and His Family. I had a heart attack at 40 playing Softball. I was a Smoker but thought I was in fair shape. I was lucky and didn't have a lot of damage. The Doctor scared me, and I never smoked again. If I make it to May 2, it will be 39 years ago. I feel for His Family and Friends!

Some days, I feel like the last man standing.

I'm so thankful for my sister and daughter.

Just 25 years ago, we had a full family, with those great large family gatherings.

Over 12 years, I lost my son, 2 uncles, 2 aunts, mom and dad, and 5 close friends. And in that blip of time, I became the lone male still carrying the family name.

Prayers for his family and friends and all affected. I’m at an age where the passing of a friend or relative is an all too common event. I remember losing my closest cousin when we were both 17. I grew up on a small farm and had learned that death was a part of life but I really had never needed to apply that to another person who I was so close to until then. All we can do is have faith and pick ourselves up and carry on. My wish for anyone who goes through this is that the grief we initially feel will quickly be replaced by fond memories.
