Reader is not the only Clemson baseball player to have beer thrown on him. It has happened before. However, the other case I know of where it happened involved a pitcher in the bullpen. Of course, the way their bullpen is laid out it basically INVITES people to do stupid crap like that.
Of course, it would not surprise me one bit if the same thing happened at Clemson. There are bad fans everywhere.

I love us playing SEC teams and hope we continue to schedule SEC teams for out of conference games, but Clemson just doesn't fit in with the trashy behavior of SEC fans or the rampant cheating that SEC schools do.

The problem with this is per his tweet, he said he was in the dugout...Carolina's dugouts are closed off from the back, so he couldnt have had beer thrown at his back while he was in the dugout.

It didn't happen. I was two rows back of the dugout and saw nothing. Nobody saw anything. The only person that could have done it would have been in the dugout with him. They are pro style dugouts and you cannot see the players or get to them. Also cannot get beer at or in the stadium. I give him kudos for getting the fan base rilled up but it's not true.

Looks like it would be hard to dump a beverage on a player, especially without being noticed, but would be possible.
Dude in the birthday hat there was giving Reader the business - can't say if he's the one that may have done the dumping - but was riding Reader & others pretty hard early in the game & after the game.

It would be very easy to throw a drink at any of them. Also everyone knows that security at Scar games is only there to keep opposing fans in check. They never say a word to a Scar fan for doing anything. We had a drink thrown on our whole section last year during regionals and it was thrown from right next to one of the security people.
