REALITY

As good and as experienced as GA's O-line was the other night, their offense only scored 3 points. Granted, maybe they could have scored again at the end, had they tried, but 3 points was it.
As bad as our OL looked the other night, we did score 3 points, too, against a really stout GA Defense. Let that sink in a minute. As bad as our offense performed we still were in a position possibly to win that game.
The pick 6 was the death knell for us, and I believe that certainly can be laid at the feet of an OL who provided no protection, and a QB who was under extreme duress, but it just goes to show how critical the OL play is. That has been a weakness for us way too long.
GA consistently has good O-Lines, and yet they haven't won anything substantial in a long time, so it isn't about just the OL, but that seems to be our biggest missing piece over and over.
It's past time to recognize it and GET IT FIXED!
As much as I like Robbie Caldwell as a person, I certainly think we need a change. There has to be someone out there who would jump at the opportunity to coach at Clemson, and then maybe, just maybe, the OL becomes a strength, rather than the weak link. Fix that, and we become consistently elite. JMO

Agree but elite defenses know the plays before we snap the ball.
2 deep safeties just waiting for the deep ball cause we
cannot run the ball. Just hoping for a PI call to bail us out.

The Oline has been weak. Although on the pick six, Dabo says Justyn Ross simply did not run his route correctly, hanging DJ out to dry.

Coach hung several out to dry. He is involved in play calling yet his comments yesterday were “who me?”

Ross running the wrong route has to be partially laid at the feet of the decision to put him in the slot in the first place. I guess he is not quite back to his freshman form, otherwise he would be outside.

Their offense is a joke. They are no benchmark
Their secondary probably isn’t that great. We didn’t test them in any way.

QB’s release time is too slow.

If it was any longer there would be a commercial break in between snap and release. Need to get that release under 3 seconds.

protection as well. Not making excuses for DJ - he does need to improve on some things from Sat night, but he was set to fail with a talented UGA defense that pinned their ears back, dared us to run and overwhelmed our O-line and pass protect schemes, all while we called one slow to develop pass play after another. Almost zero draws, slants, screens, or quick hitters to help a struggling QB who was feeling the heat. Very puzzling.
