I did read where Myrtle Beach had the lowest Memorial day occupancy in history and most blamed it on the biker take over(since Myrtle no longer sanctions biker rallies).

I live in Murrells Inlet, and it happens every year during tourist season, it never fails. During the second bike rally, it always gets extremely bad. Most of the really bad crimes happens during this time and usually only in one section of Myrtle beach. MB is very big and the crime isn’t the whole city.

Not making this as an agenda type post. Just passing along information shared to me by a Myrtle Beach cop one night. We were on the beach about 2AM and was looking for shells and just spending time with family and the cop stopped and asked what we were doing. We told him and he didn’t run us off, but we talked about 30 minutes about the job he had. He said that they were severely short staffed and mostly because of the second bike week. Officers were being brought in from other places because MB cops were afraid to work it. He said during that week they had more guns and more fire power than they did and they could not control or maintain it

Being a retired police man from horry county(sheriffs office) all departments at the beach are short handed during the summer. I don’t think I could handle it now the way things are going these days. The bad guys have all the rights and if anything is done to them it’s a law suit they are looking at back when I started in the early 80’s things were a lot different all we had to worry about was the fist fight when someone looks At someone else’s lady in a bikini now the law is out maned and out gunned from the get go. God bless them all and keep them safe from harms way….Go Tigers!!’

was thinking that was already the case? And odds are the perpetrator will turn out to be a previously convicted felon illegally in possession of a firearm OR someone similarly banned, not a law-abiding citizen who was carrying legally and felt compelled to pull his piece and wreak havoc

well sorta but more like a personality disorder than mental disease most of which are treatable with medication whereas personality disorders are not. He was probably there because his supervisor told him that was his assignment for his night shift duty & not because he wanted to be there. Sounds like you have little respect for law enforcement, which is a big problem for this country in general. There are now 2 groups for which it is not politically incorrect to demean, deride & defame: white males & cops

Myrtle Beach Bike Week will be held from May 9th to May 18th, 2025. The Black Pearl Cultural Heritage and Bike Festival, also known as Black Bike Week, will take place from May 23rd to May 26th, 2025.
The shooting was Saturday, the 24th.
But it was in Little River, SC 24 miles north of MB. Is this even related to MB and bikers?
