Can someone PLEASE tell me why the NFL values Trubisky...

...over DW4? On the surface, it seems utterly ridiculous. The guy couldn't beat out Marquise Williams (who went undrafted) two years ago, he started only 13 games, and went a very average 8-5 in those 13 starts.
Deshaun Watson was a 2-year starter, went 28-2 in those 2 years, played in 2 NCGs, and won one of them (by beating the *arguably* best defense in CFB history).
I wear orange colored glasses, but even if I didn't, this looks like no contest to me.
What's with all the MT love in the NFL?

Two things: INTs and "measurables".

DW threw some interceptions.
Trubisky has "measurables" or meets some metrics that the NFL considers valuable. You know, like Ryan Leaf or Joey Harrington or Tim Couch or Rick Mirer or ...

to a streaking WR to run under it. UNC had some good/fast WR and they never played against world beating DBs
tape is flawed...there is a reason that he couldn't beat out M. Williams

Trubisky never did a thing at UNC to warrant this attention. UNC football is irrelevant to the tar holes like basketball is to us. Watson has been clutch in the big games unlike Trubisky. I love our innovative offense but sometimes it seems that the stuck in the past NFL values their boring antiquated offenses. That hurts the zone read qbs.

Trubisky is a good QB but not in the same league as DW4. I see him having success in the NFL. One thing for sure, he didn't have the supporting staff around him that our guy did. I always liked Switzer and believe he will be a good player too. Hood wasted his college career being at chapel hole. He would have been a high pick if he had chosen CLEMSON. That decision by his dad cost him millions !

That second bama game / win

You could make the argument that the 2nd NCG vs Alabama, with Nick Saban hearing for 1 year how DW4 lit his defense up, and Bama has mostly future NFL players at every position on defense, and ten days and plenty of game film having a rematch against the same offense and personnel around DW4, TEN DAYS and all the film Saban could possibly need to prepare for him, and he still lit them up AGAIN and walked out with a NCG trophy. There hasn't been a college qb in a long time more battle tested and proven than DW4.
This will end up being a joke (remember when Team X drafted that Mitch guy instead of Deshaun Watson? Haha what a bunch of idiots)

Pro style offense vs the Spread...
It's really that simple.
Trubinsky has great mechanics in the most common and comfortable offense played at the professional level.
Spread QBs are very hit or miss.

That's it. NFL teams for the most part don't like the spread and zone read offenses. It hurts players like Watson.

how many wise QB selections have they made in the last 20 years?
I say let the Browns, Jets, Bills of the world take him and let DW fall to a team that will utilize his talent better.
I'd personally like to see Watson end up with the Cardinals or Texans. Texans would be best set up as they are built to win now.

Personally, I believe..

it is a smokescreen created by some NFL personnel offices to convince Cleveland(a team known for bad draft picks) to take Trubisky first overall or to trade up their #12 pick to get ahead of the Jets at #6, maybe even to #2 ahead of the 49s and Bears to effectively waste a pick on a late 1st round quarterback. It was picked up by the talking heads at ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL Network, etc., who are now doing the pushing for them. Personally I don't understand the Myles Garrett situation. Yes he is a very good player, but he is an edge rusher in a draft triple thick with them. The same is true with DBs and running backs, yet I see Mock Drafts pushing them to the front. It isn't even as weak at wide receiver as they seem to be pushing. Where it is weak is O-Linemen, D-Tackle, Linebacker, and Quality QBs. I think we will see a very different real draft from what these are projecting!

Media is complicit with anything Tarhole.
How else do you explain the media's total "look the other way" approach to Chapel Hill crimes.
