Ed Orgeron has been underestimated many times because he has a deep "Down-the-Bayou" Cajun accent. You might consider the character of a man who, despite being a national figure and coaching at different schools, has never changed his accent or ignored his south Lafourche roots. Making fun of the way he speaks in itself speaks poorly of you.

him, not at him. I think almost everybody likes Coach O, he's got a great personality and has been through #### in his personal life and come out on the other side a better man. He's a perfect fit at LSU, and that accent is just icing on the cake. I love listening to him talk... LOL

I think we can all share a laugh without diminishing the man himself. I love the Cajun patois (& the food) and I love the gravel pit voice. And no one here is attacking him as a person for the way he speaks. ####, Dabo gets poked at a little bit for his country boy drawl, so we can all dig it.

After a triathalon on Sullivan's Island, a group of friends and I stopped at a pizza joint because we were starving. They screwed up our order, so they gave us that pizza and also made the one we ordered. While we were waiting, the manager came by to smooth things over.
Turns out he was from John's Island (geetchie central). I grew up in West Ashley, but I worked plenty of summers in the tomato sheds on John's Island. Anyway, we got to talking about the people and the places there that we both kew. Before you knew it, the other pizza had arrived.
The manager left us in peace to eat our pizza, but everyone was staring at me. I looked around and said, "What ?" They said, " We just watched two people talk for fifteen minutes and we understood about every 5th word." I guess we had just fallen into our "geetchie" without realizing it. The pizzas were excellent - and free.
