The Americanization of the term is really just to promote disambiguation regarding the pronunciation of “bar-b-que” - it’s important that we plant as many seeds in the heads of Americans as possible that “-que” is pronounced “kyoo” and it’s right and proper to hand-paint that on a roadside pork smoking stand.
