Out of the 5 healthy backs, do any of them have break away speed? The type of guy that makes a move at the 2nd level and doesn't get caught? If so, is it time to start handing the ball to a speedster?
1. Mafah's last verified 40-yard dash was 4.69. He's a BEAST but isn't going to outrun anyone. 2. Similar story for Domonique "Quadzilla" Thomas. 3. I can't find anything about Keith Adams Jr speed, but he had no other power 5 offers. 4. Jarvis Green ran a 4.43 in high school, but for some reason, VT was his only other power 5 offer. 5. Jay Haynes ran a 4.45 in high school. In the few times I have seen him, he is FAST. But again, only 2 other power 5 offers.
I certainly don't think anyone gets drafted this year, so the RB room will have 6 guys with newcomer David Eziomume. It'll be interesting to see if anyone takes off for a chance at more touches or not.

Genuinely curious what makes you think Shipley leave?
The altercations with coaches?

Well he was a 5* number 1 AP RB. He and plenty of others believe that he is a top tier RB. He doesn’t look too satisfied here lately, and he is basically a co-starter. I’m not sure if he will leave, but we definitely won’t have 6 scholarship RBs on the team next year.

Mafah is the best back and it's not even close. Who care about breakaway when you get 6 ypc

I agree wholeheartedly, but sure would be nice to have a home run hitter as well.

If they want to show case their talents for the next level then I would transfer to a team with a very good O line. I could see notre dame being a fit for Ship. If he was on that team this year i feel pretty good he would have close to 1000 yds by now. If the trend of late continues he may have 750 by seasons end and that is if he doesn't miss any games.
