Rashard Hall snaps against Auburn...

Sep 4, 2012, 8:08 PM

Just read that Hall only got 30 snaps compared to Jonathan Meeks 60 and Xavier Brewer's 59. Hall needs more snaps. Personally, I think he's better than both Meeks and Brewer.
Especially Brewer. I wonder if it stems from him missing spring practice this year and Venables just getting more comfortable with Meeks and Brewer during that time since that was his first exposure to the team.

Also Corico only got 7 snaps the entire game and none until late 3rd quarter. Although I do believe the options in front of him are better I was surprised at this low amount.

here are the snap #'s if anyone is interested....

Hall is most definately better than Meeks and Brewer. I do agree. Corico Wright however should not play. Willard has the weakside locked down. Would like to see Lateek more.

I didn't see anything that lead me to believe Hall was better than Meeks, who came up and made at least two or three touchdown saving tackles against Auburn.

As for Brewer I would much rather see him play corner and let Hall play the safety spot but I am more than willing to let Venables have a couple of weeks to see who fits in best at each position before saying anything.

What last year made you think Hall was better than just about anyone we have by the way? (I know he was injured but he was downright awful for long stretches last year so just wondering what you have watched that led you to this opinion?)

Meeks is much better yes, but brewer is too vulnerable to blow a coverage or get burned. Hopefully he will fix the coverage issue easy, but he will get beat deep still. Hall won't as much and we need a defense that gives up yardage in chips and bends, but doesn't break. Because of the offense we have

And the most important defensive player was.....

Brewer was all over the field Saturday

Hall is better at getting picks than both Brewer and Meeks, but Meeks plays better coverage and Brewer is better at tackling

Hall lead the team in tackles last year while playing hurt.
