From 1968-71, we won 16 games...we nearly matched that is 2018!

Looking back to 1948, when we first played a 10 game schedule

1968-72 was our lowest win total for four consecutive years! I knew it was a bad stretch! Compare that to 55 wins in the past four years!

Lets compound bad football by eliminating The Hill entrance. The guy was a visionary on the order of Ray Charles.

MY 4 years at Clemson: 73-77: 17 wins

One year with 2 wins, another with 3 wins. But we pulled hard for Clemson and I sat through all home games - never leaving early- never giving up hope.

three times, split the wins evenly with South Carolina and still didn't go bowling.
But, we did start the Howard's Rock tradition and enjoyed one of the largest home crowds against our game against Georgia in 1967. (We, also, continued our famous "Rat Sh*t, Bat Sh*t" cheer, but only in impromptu rallies on the quad. lol)

I was right there with you Sam. Going home during Christmas those years was tough as the UofSC was having their greatest of all years in 1969(7-3 ACC Champs) and beat us 3 out of four. Some of my high school classmates that were at that school in Cootlumbia were unbearable in their feelings of superiority at the time. Our way of fighting this was by the knowledge that we were getting a REAL education. I think the phrase was Academics over Athletics at the time. Things have sure changed over the past 40 or so years, and our academics still far outranks theirs......

Dang - I was there during those years, but dropped out for 2.5 years to save money and mature enough to come back and finish. I remember those seasons sitting in pouring rain hoping to beat the other worst team in the conference.
