But why on earth would he give an answer. It's a no win for him. He recruits against both schools. Of course saying Dabo would be a worse answer for him, but in his explanation he said for defensive reasons. Which made it sound like he'd pick Dabo if he played offense.

Finally the interviewer said the question was ... Who do you want to beat more? and he had to change his answer to Clemson.
In other words "Alabama is better than Clemson no matter what the question is just stop asking me ."
It was pretty sad actually.

having said that, I know him and Saban were really close at one time. Also, Saban said at SEC media days that Muschamp was on of his best assistant coaches. That's saying a lot.
If I were him I would have complimented both coaches and mention the relationship I had with Saban. He's not too good under the gun and comes off like a child. I am sure that helps in recruiting.

That was hard to watch. How embarrassing for everyone involved. Asking Muschchamp to essentially to sing the praises of his arch rival. And then act surprised when he doesn't. It was as if Peter Burns didn't know Clemson and SC were in the same state and hated rivals.
