it was the rights version of Antifa. Take away the extremes on both side and the rest of us can get along. Sure, we'll still argue and fight but in the end cooler heads will prevail.
It's like our black sheep relatives. We're gonna bail them out when all is said and done, but dang it.. They make it hard to admit we're on the same family tree.

agree, but unfortunately, our problems run deeper than that. Sure, they were the radicalized crazies, but they represented a small fraction of people who believed the election was stolen. No Politician has ever dared cross that line, it made the believers extremely angry, and were gaslit into believing the Biden administration would ruin the country, yet that never happened. The fear tactics from both sides get old, but that being said, the corruption and illegality of this administration are beyond breathtaking. They actually managed to legitimize the claims of the "Left-wing Lunies" in less than 2 months.

It was a disgrace to the country, but it was much like some of the other peaceful protests from the Summer of Love. This just happened to be at the Capitol instead of Target. A bunch of low class people running amuck.

The answer depends upon how one defines the metrics which constitutes a peaceful protest vs a violent protest.
If the standard for a peaceful protest is defined by an assembly of people in which the vast majority of protesters were peaceful and a very small minority of protesters being violent, then J6 was a peaceful protest.
If the standard is that a violent protest is defined by a very small minority of protesters being violent while the vast majority remains ned peaceful, then J6 was a violent protest.

It should have been a much more violent affair. They shouldn't have let anyone in the Capitol. They should have warned and then opened fire on the people trying to get into the Capitol.
