There’s enough time to go into details about the team and the talent on this team, but I’ll just make a quick prediction.
Hard to predict this sport, but I think Bakich is the next Jack Leggett, and maybe better.
I think Clemson baseball gets 50 wins this regular season. Actually don’t know when the last time that was, but Bakich will have this team continue its success from last year.
I think this is an Omaha year. Don’t know after that, but we’re good. Really really good.
50-6.
Losses coming against Wake and other weird games.

Hope you’re right. I feel good about this team too. My only concern is pitching. IHope some of these guys like Barlow have really improved like coach says. I think Grice’s presence on the mound will be missed this year.

I have reason to predict this.
After the Wake Forest sweep last year, Clemson was 16-13.
From that point they went 27-4. And logged a 17-game win streak until Tennessee.
I think it was an obvious situation of Bakich figuring it out. And it won’t just stop all of the sudden. With a whole off-season to practice and get these very good looking young players in, Bakich will give Clemson fans a lot to be grateful for I’ll just say that.
I think the pitching is going to be even better this whole entire year. Which has been the only thing holding us back most of the time.
I truly think 45-50 wins almost should be very doable, really if not expected from this team.
That said, slumps happen. That’s why I stated that it’s hard to predict.
But I really don’t think hitting will slow down. These guys are relentless with the bats.

1982 Texas went 58-7 in a 65-game regular season. 89% winning percentage
There’s been others to crack 55, even modern day with slightly shorter regular seasons. Oregon State went 56-6 in 2017.
I did say 50 though, and clarified to someone else that 45-50 wins is very doable for this team.
I think when you look at Bakich with his astounding track record and everything else that comes with him, I think it’s reasonable to expect these types of things.
The thing that is hardest for any coach to do is obviously win it all in Omaha. You have to have played your pitching rotation exactly right strategically throughout regionals to make sure you’re deep and healthy enough to compete in Omaha. So winning it all is still not a reasonable expectation yet. Which is obviously fine.
I definitely feel like the Clemson job holds a ton of pressure though. With what Clemson fans want given our history, we only want a coach giving us a chance at Omaha. Nothing less. It seems like that pressure may be present in past regionals that we’ve lost.

If we can get top 3-5 in ACC it will be a great year. The ACC is loaded this year and we have a tough road schedule. The USC series will tell us if we moved forward. We need to take 2 out of 3 this year to set the tone for the season, if not the black cloud just hangs around all year.

Every year we have fans that think the South Carolina series will tell us what we are and that is never the case. We beat them plenty under monte but still accomplished nothing. We swept them 2 seasons ago and didn’t make the postseason. Last year we lost 2/3 with no pitching (should’ve won that Saturday game) and we end up being the #4 national seed. Its actually my opinion that the South Carolina series tells us nothing about our team after three weeks
