Have you lost friends over the Clemson/SCAR rivalry? Not proud of it, but I can think of 3.
That said, my best and oldest friend is a gamecock, and several other long term close friends. Some people just don’t know when to let it go, and I maybe one of them.

I always try to be polite and humble with my Cooter friends....
Say its going to be a great game....
Makes the sting of the defeat even harder for them to take.
I have not lost friends over this rivalry, but I'm not from SC.
I have lost friends over politics.

My best friends are a USuck grad and an Auburn grad. We just agree not to discuss the games if we can’t keep things reasonable. These are lifelong friends, well educated (PhD college President and a Marine Colonel) type of guys, and we don’t get bent out of shape over a game. But we agree on politics and that helps.

I've had falling outs waaaaay back in my younger years but never anything permanent. But in recent memory? No. Sports isn't that serious and if friends want to part ways over sports, then you were never truly friends to begin with.

I’ve been in Richland County before, but it never crossed my mind to go down to the Glenn Detention Center and make friends with the detainees.
Seems like it’s been a good policy so far.

I have several dear friends that are gamecocks. But growing up and living in Lexington/Columbia for 70 years, it usually happens. We would always tailgate for both teams after we quit attending games.

I lost what I thought was a friend when Scar went 1-21 in the 98-99 seasons. I tried talking the man up and he basically asked me to leave his establishment and never return. And I was not harassing him

nearly half and half Clemson and South Carolina fans.
Now of course, 6 members of my family have now graduated from Clemson and I one of them is also a doctor who completed med school at South Carolina after graduating Clemson...she is diehard Clemson all the way.
I choose not to deal with South Carolina fans too much, although I do work with one and he is pretty decent as long as we are not talking about college football, or politics LOL.
