As the daughter of poor immigrants, I'm blessed! My parents came here with very little and did the best they could. Due to their beliefs and propaganda from their home country, I grew up very sheltered and was advised to stick with my own kind. But, by God, I was born in America, and since America was built on rebellion... I rebelled! I think I broke all of our social and religious beliefs, but I wanted to be an AMERICAN!! I fought to go to public school, I fought to get a job (instead of getting married and having 100 kids), and I fought to break away from the restraints of staying in my family's small world.
On my job, I met my husband, who was arguing with a coot over the coot hat he was wearing!🤣 My husband attended clemson and talked me into furthering my education, which opened many new doors for me.
Growing up I never knew anything about clemson or even about being an American, but now, I feel accepted and empowered. I'm so glad to be a tiger and American!
Clemson family is the best family! God bless you all!!❤️

There are 2 basically fenced compounds at the end of our road with several houses of Russian families.
They keep very tight control over all the kids, especially the girls to the point of rarely even letting them be seen in the front yard.

Yes, most Russian girls are expected to marry other Russians, and are kept in the dark about American ways.
It really depends on the church they attend. The church I attended was very strict. We grew up with no TV, couldn't have pierced ears,...that kind of stuff.
You are expected to live the "Russian" way, but as my husband says, why not stay over there if you don't want to change??🤣

I'm the black sheep of the family for sure! My husband is a southern American (cherokee/Irish), so you can imagine the battles between him and my family!!🤣 He doesn't approve of their beliefs and ways and despises their anti-American thoughts. 🤣

The story about the coot hat is hilarious! I didn't know anything about college rivalry at the time.
My husband is known as a hard-butt, and is fiercely a tiger. I happened to
Walk up on him and my boss arguing about my boss's coot hat. It was plaid with the shamecock logo on the front. Not knowing any better and feeling like I needed to help my boss out, I got involved. BIG MISTAKE! I ended up getting schooled!🤣 He despises the shamecock nation, and doesn't take it lightly.
