Pros/Cons of Brooks Center Parking?...
Jul 30, 2008, 9:41 AM

My main concern is a decent restroom, as i will be bringing my 4 year old daughter to games. Also, how is the walk? It's been a while since i've parked on that side of campus, is this near the library? Is it easy access to get to I-26?

Not really a bathroom that I can remember. But lot's of shade and near the library. just a quick walk. Traffic is a little slower just because there is 1 entrance/exit to the brooks center and then you also have some from Lehotsky and P&A trying to get to Perimeter the same way.

When I have walked around there before games it does not seem as congested as it is near the field.

Brooks Center is not bad overall

Your closest decent restrooms will be at the library and that's only a short walk from the BC. The parking there is not bad and there's plenty of room, but it's a pain getting out of there right after the game. It's a bit of a hike to the stadium too, but most of the free lots are that way.

i parked there every game last year. Pros: great shade, not quite as packed in as other areas, easy walk to death valley, band practicing Cons: closest bathroom is probably the library (porta-potties on the road leading up to strom thurmond), if there is no one directing traffic it takes forever to get out
make sure to get there early

for a restroom, so that is not too bad. Thanks for your response. With the "shade", is there any need to bring a tailgating tent?

yea, i'd still bring it... sometimes the best spot you can get is not fully shaded (those spots go the quickest). and some spots will be shaded at 10am and not at 2pm.

They may put more port-a-johns around it now that it's not a free lot, but it's hard to say. There are usually 3-4 port-a-johns down by the band practice field.
It's a nice shady lot, some non-paved areas are available all around. The only real con: it's a long walk to the stadium, and feels about twice as long back.

Since it's an IPTAY lot now, I wouldn't be surprised if they put more portajohns around there now.
