Pros and Cons of going to Big 12?

Just wondering. It seems people are either neutral to the idea, or don't like the idea.
I think if VT, GT, and FSU leave, the ACC would be sort of like the Mountain West. Clemson would be the only real *big* tea, much like Boise State is in the MW. Every once in a while we could come out doing well and on top.
In the Big 12, I think we would have to compete harder, and I think it would become a strong conference to rival and take out the "god tier" (sarcasm) SEC. However I think we could do it. Likewise I feel like we could get more recognition and respect from the media being in the Big 12.
Unfortunately, I hate the vast distance we would have to travel, or the fact that we could be labelled as stat packing fodder other teams.
Just interested to hear what people think.

Travel is no worse then we have now. Just going left to right instead of up and down.

I was about 70% in favor of it when it first came up, because I feared what now appears to be happening to the ACC. Now, I'm about 95% in favor of it.
I believe there will eventually be four super conferences of 16 teams, and I don't forsee the ACC being one of them.

I hate the ACC...CU can't leave fast enough

I'd love to see football oriented schools like GT, VT, NCSU etc form another eastern league with Louisville and similar schools. I'd be fine w/that.
I just don't see that happening.
Instead, I see all of this heading toward four 16- team leagues. I see Clemson in the Big 12. The plus is that we'd be in a strong football league. The minus would be extra travel.
I can empathize with the fans who live in the current ACC footprint, and don't want to give up short drives to NC. On the other hand, look at the quality of our competition (or lack thereof).
