The staff doesn't make offers based on recruiting site rankings. They put a great deal of time looking in to recruits' character and on the field strengths prior to making an offer.
If it looks like a player is a hard commit with little to no chance of changing, they're not going to put the time and effort in to vetting the kid.
My take on this one is that he reached out to the staff, and in response they ultimately offered.

they generally don't offer until a kid has visited..dabo insists on building a personal relationship before offering.
as i get older, i realize how little i know..but i do know that i wouldn't trade dabo for any coach that ever lived.

This has the potential of being the best recruiting class (under 15 scholarships) ever in the history of recruiting class rankings. There is a good chance that we land the #1 QB, RB, OT, OG, SDE, WDE & CB. Add to that the #2 CB and ILB and #4 TE
Add in the others that have committed or will soon.....
Granted, we wont win them all but even 50% of those would be nasty.

We need to be prepared for Wilkins, Farrell, Yeargin, Bryant all to leave early also. Good chance at least 2 if not 3 do. Would think Wilkins is likely and Farrell would be likely with a similar year to Dodd or Lawson. Yeargin doubtful and Bryant who knows but no one would have thought Dodd would leave prior to 2 years ago.

Idk Bryant might if he has a break out year but he would be the one starter I see staying for another year one year full year of tape unless he balls out he will prob need to stay another year to have a high draft spot and only reason I see yeargin leaving is a transfer he doesn't have the stats or playing time to warrant leaving early for draft. I see Wilkins and maybe Ferrell as the two to leave early the other two I think will stay unless they just have unbelievable seasons
