My wife and I were hiking on a fairly crowded trail, but not too bad. About halfway to our destination, we see a couple and both the husband and wife are wearing Florida Gators gear. We haven’t seen many people from the southeast on our trip, so my wife decided to be friendly and ask if the were from Florida. After they said they were indeed from Florida, she told them we were from South Carolina. At this point, the husband starts chanting “SEC”. I shook my head and told him I was a Clemson grad and went about my way. He seemed genuinely disappointed. My wife is too nice, and this is why I don’t talk to random people.
On a positive note, we did see a fellow Clemson couple on our way back down the mountain.

but they’ve earned a lot of it over the years with good management, good games, good schedules, lots of wins, etc..
but can you count the many recruits we’ve sadly lost over the years just b/c we weren’t in the SEC, or worse that we are in the ACC.
Still, Dabo & Teams have competed very well overall.

I usually do most of the time when I hike, but everything I had with me on this trip was dirty yesterday so I was incognito.
I do a road trip every summer, and I run into a few other Clemson people every year. Until yesterday, I thought I was not going to see any fellow Tigers. We still have Theodore Roosevelt NP the next couple of days, then it’s time to log some miles.
