Nobody is expecting Tajh to go pro. NFL teams, ESPN, Random Beat Writers, NFL projection committee (or whoever comes up with the draft projections).....nobody.

It seems like the only person thinking he has a decision to make is Tajh. More power to him if he thinks he can make it. I think he can, but I don't think he will get drafted any higher than 4th round (his projection).

In 2008, the average guaranteed salary for a first-round pick in the NFL was $11,924,000. For second-round picks, that number drops to $1,932,000, while third-round picks averaged $668,000 guaranteed. The steep drop illustrates the significant financial importance a higher draft slot has for a prospect. In the fourth round it drops to around 300,000 guaranteed.

The average lifespan of an NFL athlete is 3 years. Discuss.

you make some valid points

and hopefully they're enough to convince tajh to stay. while i'm on the side of him staying, i'll play devil's advocate here.

it is doubtful that tajh's numbers are going to dramatically improve next year (with the exception of fewer INTs), so not very much improvement in draft stock there. i think some of his mechanics could use a little improvement and he still has a tendency to force throws (showed much improvement on that this year). who knows how much he will improve on that in the offseason? the offense he has around him isn't going to change all that much either and he might even lose his favorite receiver and mcdowell has been very good but will he take enough focus off of tajh?

also the statistics about salary level don't mean much to an individual. unless he gets stuck with a sorry franchise and gets no opportunity to play, he will be a good player or he won't. the average salary stats will only affect him the first few years of his contract (and $300,000 isnt bad money).

there are lots of things that could go either way for him if he stays or goes next year and i definitely want him to stay and i think he should. i guess my point is that his i don't think the decision to stay is as overwhelmingly supported as the media or fans might think

Ill answer your post with this:

As far as improving your game that went out the window 20 years ago. Players are picked as a result of popularity votes now more than ever. If Boyd comes back he is at least on the top 3 for Heisman consideration.

You have your name on that list. Your draft stock skyrockets. No matter if you threw for 3500 yards this season and he comes out and throws for...lets say 2900-3000. Its all about getting your name out there these days. As crazy as that sounds.

Take a look at Tim Tebow. Had one of his worst years in his playing career his senior year, but his popularity had skyrocketed. His popularity got him drafted in the first round. His skill set got him out of the NFL in 2013

^^^ This... Boyd has a lot more to play for

If he makes some noise in the Heisman race, it's on.
