Asking for some prayers for myself. I went in for my first mammogram and they called me and asked to come back in for an additional 3D mammogram and ultrasound. They found a spot that may be of concern. I go in tomorrow at 10:00. If you’re the praying type, say one for me please. I’ll keep you posted

What happens to some people don't make it a rule. I'm 78 and have had to go back in 3 times in my life, all 3 times have not shown any serious concerns. Hope this lets you relax a little, I know how this can shake you. Praying you have similar results. BTW: My Mother and Grandmother both had radical mastectomies, so I have reason for concern. Thank you for responding. That means a lot! My grandmother had a mastectomy and her sister had a double mastectomy. My family history is definitely playing a role in my nerves. Glad to know you’re doing well!

My wife gets called back for a 3D almost every year and has had multiple biopsies. I know it can be nerve wracking so will definitely be paying for you. I thank God here’s have turned out good and pray that your 3D will and for peace.

Thank you for letting me know about your wife. I really wish more women would talk about things like this. Knowing this may be common practice and that they’re being precautious, makes me feel better. Glad your wife is well! It’s definitely a scary situation.

It is definely common. We have considered paying for the 3D every year to avoid the inevitable calllback. Insurance will only participate in the 3D if the screening is done.
Although unnerving, it is reassuring that they are being cautious.

That’s not a bad idea. I think my nerves got the best of me because my friend went for her first mammogram and got the same call as I did. However, after her 2nd test, they had to do a biopsy. Thankfully she’s fine, but it was scary.

Prayers to you. Wife recently had to come back for a second look(dense tissue). While it mostly being precautionary, it still stresses.

Yes that’s exactly what they said to me as well. The dense tissue and a higher risk. I do have so much more peace after reading all of your comments. It sounds like this is quite common. Since this was my first mammogram, I had no clue. Thank you for taking the time to comment about your wife. Thanks for the prayers as well

The worst part is not knowing. No matter what you find out, knowing is the beginning of taking action. I’m so glad you had it done. All kind of false positives and negatives so you just need to get it straight. Then trust you will get through it as so many other women have successfully. God is always with you!
