up. Woe is us!
I don't buy it. What nobody is saying, but everybody believes, if you corner them, is that the one thing these players cannot take with them, no matter where they go, is that Nick Saban "Thanos" aura of inevitablity. As long as Saban was at Bama calling the shots, he was an invisible 12th Man, seemingly WILLING them to win.
That is gone now, and we will never see its like again. It could be, as some have suggested, even though he denied, that the combination of NIL and the Portal actually drove him away. It certainly didn't add to the fun, that's for sure.

a bidding war for ANY player. That is why I waste none of my time worrying about what somebody else is doing in the Transfer Portal. It is another world, as far as we are concerned. Like that or not, it is just a fact.

I agree with you Spud and 76er. Dabo knows what he is doing. I would much rather help a kid out of high school accomplish his dream of playing college football, get a great education, possibly play in the NFL, become a Clemson man, husband, and father, instead of pulling someone out of a portal for a 1 year stint. Seems a lot more coaches are coming forward this year saying that the portal and NIL needs to be fixed. This is eventually going to iron out once the extra Covid years are gone.

They make fun of FSU for being a disloyal "team of transfers" in one post then around and wish we could be just like them in the next
Same thing happens when it comes to UGA...the easiest solution to save them the heartache of Dabo not using the portal is just switch your fan alliance to one of the many schools who do. Problem solved

I'm just so sick of hearing about players entering the portal and transferring, in many cases, for PFP. It's just eating away at the once great sport.
