Or lack thereof. Anyone else a little concerned that we’ve only offered 1 guy?

I know it seems to be status quo up to this point but with the departures so far, we have to get a couple guys to fill in for depth.

Someone else did a good analysis earlier that shows we are sitting on 83 scholarships with those leaving already accounted for. We have the 1 portal offer outstanding but also still have a couple of HS offers yet to decide.

So, until we have more defections that actually become official, we don't know how many offers to the portal we can even make with any certainty. I'm sure we are doing our homework and have line of sight on some we may want to extend offers to, but we need to get the current roster set so we know what we are dealing with.

I think that the coaching staff feels like the guys we have are better than most portal guys. If there is a for sure big time guy available the coaches will consider him. There is a reason these portal guys are leaving!!!

There seems to be a lot of top talent out there with coaching and program changes.

But it comes down to fit and need, and money….

Many of these guys just looking for big $$, not good fit for us. Others want playing time, if they weren’t getting it elsewhere, will they get it here? So many variables….

I trust our coaches to do the math and figure it all out. Way above all our pay grades.

I’ve stopped worrying about it. Dabo proved with the new hires he still has the fire and desire to keep CU in the elite discussion so I’m just going to trust he will. He’s earned that. Though I wish he would’ve started dipping into it a little bit more in the past.

Scanning the portal at looking at the top guys that could potentially play and make an impact, Clemson isn’t going to give those guys anywhere near the dollars that schools like Ohio State, Texas etc. At some positions, the top NIL schools are paying 2x-3x more then Clemson. I still think they can recruit better than they can fill rosters with NIL players.
