The irony in this ##### post!!

Feb 28, 2014, 6:29 PM

Tuned it in a few mins this morning as I drove my son to school (the local stations in Columbia were talking about it and I had heard their take) to hear if they talked any baseball this morning. I learned a few things from a caller- and Mickey Plyler.

1) USC went 1-9 a "few years ago" in football. I assume "few" means the 2011 football season - at least that's what "few" would mean to anyone with at least a 3rd grade education. (Yes, 1-9 . The caller mentioned this at the start of whatever point she was trying to make and Plyler just accepted it)

2) Our baseball team has had the upper hand " a couple of times recently"

Then it was obvious to me - I've heard this line of spin a lot from Clemson folk on the radio. I guess folks like to spin a lot.

Then something occured to me - I turned to my 10 year old son in the backseat and laughed. He didn't know why. He wasn't listening to the radio. But it did occur to me - that at 10 years old- he's been alive during 6 Gamecocks football wins over Clemson, and 5 losses - and since he's really been old enough to know anything about sports or football- he's never even heard of us losing to Clemson.

*HOW IS HIS SON 10 AND LIVED TO SEE THE GAMECOCKS GO 6-5?
TALK ABOUT SPINNING A RIVALRY

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

Hey, don't make fun of that Gamecock math professor. He was simply using the new USC-SEC math, therefore Auburn's win over us 3 years ago counted as a South Carolina win.
