Dabo really likes our QB depth this year...

but he didn't seem to trust it until late.
DJ was playing a lot of snaps. Too many, in fact. We really needed Cade to earn more snaps to relieve DJ. Cade's only a freshman, but we needed him to play more.
So far, Cade has had some great days of practice but also some bad days of practice. Dabo expects a lot, especially at the QB position, before he plays guys. But I believe we are at the point where we will be playing Cade more to get him better faster.
That strategy hurt us in the short term, which is concerning since we couldn't afford the bad losses to ND and SCU. But I think it will help us in the long term.
Look for Cade to be the starter beginning with the Orange Bowl against Tennessee. Cade will likely get all of the snaps.

I really hope Cade starts, but we really don't even know if he is ready based on just one ACC Championship and an MVP performance. I just hope Helms stays healthy and is ready. Hunter Johnson supposedly won't be there due to an interview with BDO, "the people who know".

Since DJ has entered the portal and shouldn't be available too play,
who else would start if cade doesn't? Dabo said earlier that Cade is
the starter.

It just pisses me off that we get DJ to where he is and then he leaves to go somewhere else to win his natty. Not very loyal like Dabo.I guess once you arrive you have to spread your wings and fly.

Not to worry, it’s all been worked out. When Dabo asked me today how he should proceed with the QB situation, I advised him that he’s throwing the ball too much. He should only be throwing the ball 8-10 times a game, but they need to be the right throws. So my advice was on the first down of each series he should throw a 75-80 yd TD pass (or whatever is required). 8-10 of these should be enough to secure the game.
So everybody just relax. It’s handled.

Dabo wrote on the back of a business card that Cade would go undefeated at Clemson. So far Coach Swinney has been honoring that promise, so please excuse me if I do not believe you when you say he will start in the orange bowl.
