Time to get there.tailgate, indulge, mosey over to the seats..... game done by 7 ... can go eat dinner, back in N.C. late night, early am..... it's good stuff.
Oh the prime time games are electric, no doubt though. But I'm getting home @ 2-3... still not a prob but easier with 3;30.

Plenty of time to drive to Clemson without having to get-up before daylight. The traffic coming in to campus also tends to be less congested.
Game usually wraps-up by 6:30 or 7:00 so there is plenty of time for more tailgating afterwards and to watch the later game while the traffic clears.
Get home in plenty to time to make it to church on Sunday.

3:30. Time to grill before and/or after the game, afternoon shadows on the field, don't have to load food before sunrise or unpack after midnight.
